The existence of Gods

Imagine a color that you have never seen? Can you? I am sure No. Similarly when it comes to the question of Gods, its beyond imagination. Nobody has ever seen God. Nobody has ever heard him speak. Now the mystery is what about their existence when reality is the manifestation of our imagination and Gods remain beyond our imagination. Even if we try to draw, carve or give them a shape, we take references from the mythological books and mythology is derived from the term "myth" which means disbelief. It is a matter of surprise that we take pride in creating Gods who has created all of us. We think we can control the emotions of The supreme power which controls everything. Since the times immemorial, man has fought among themselves in the name of God. Some believe that God is ubiquitous, some say they dwell somewhere in the stars, some say they incarnate in humans and so on. Different people have different notions about the existence of god. This is the reason why the mo...

The Culinary Theatre

Cooking is an art, perhaps the only art that entices all the five senses. In the 20th century, it was said that "the only way to reach a man's heart is through his stomach"; hence every girl learnt cooking since a very early age and gained expertise in the same. While with changing times, the adage doesn't hold true because cooking cannot be the only way to impress men. In the fast moving world, where most of the boys stay away from their hometowns for either studies or work understood the need of learning how to cook so that they don't have to depend on outside food and can cook any dish according to their wish. Moreover, we are in an era where hospitality industry is at its zenith. Good chefs are in demand, making Cooking a booming profession. For me, cooking is a hobby and I feel very happy and relieved of my stress whenever I cook. Some lines that expresses my own idea towards cooking: When life doesn't taste yum and chocolaty, People even ...

Are Aliens real?

It is said that “The only thing that is more scary than space aliens is the idea that there aren't any space aliens. We can't be the best that creation has to offer. I pray we're not all there is. If so, we're in big trouble". The curiosity of humans have lead them to venture out to space more than they have discovered their own planet Earth. When we speak of aliens; the literal meaning of aliens is "Unknown" or "Unfamiliar". But h ow can we be unfamiliar to anything  in the  universe  when one of the great joys in gazing at the night sky comes from feeling a connection with the cosmos.  How can one call anything alien   that the universe has to offer since we all share the same origin, the Big Bang. All the matter in the universe including every element we are made of was made in the aftermath of exploding stars.  T he nitrogen in our DNA, the iron in our blood, the calcium in our bones, everything can be traced back to the stars. The uni...

Cos every pic tells a story

Image
Cos the universe is made of stories....And every pic tells a story....Can you guess what story does this pic tell? Yes! You are right if your answer is social service or any other term associated with it. This pic tells about my village school visit as a part of my first CSR activity. This experience is very close to my heart as it let me knew another side of my life which I could never have imagined. It made me realize how I fortunate I am to have received the right education and understand the value we can create through education in our lives. Under the aegis of CSR club, Dream Connectors, of our office CGI, a school visit was organized on 4th February, 2017. Every year our company like most other companies, allocates a fixed amount of fund for the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activites. The employees propose their ideas as in the right place to invest the CSR funds followed with an analysis to select one of the most feasible and effective ideas and then comes the...

Creative Thinkers are avid Note-takers

The founder of Microsoft,  Bill Gates , once said that “ creative thinkers are avid note takers ”. The common trait among the world’s most  successful people  is the  art of effective note taking . There are several reasons why taking written notes is important: Keeps you alert : Note-taking keeps your body active and involved and helps you avoid feelings of drowsiness or distraction. Engages your mind:  Listening carefully and deciding what to include in notes keeps your mind actively involved with what you hear. Creates a condensed record for study : A set of concise, well-organized notes from each session helps you make Mom (minutes of the meeting) easily, gives you the content to review and revise. Boosts your understanding:  By making notes, you force yourself to construct a conceptual mental representation of the ideas you are grappling with. It’s the process of writing notes, and not the notes themselves, that helps you gain command of ne...

Victory Loves Dedication

Do you have something that you love so much? Do you have some dream that don't let you sleep? And if you have, are you dedicated, and you work hard to achieve?  If you have, no matter how big those are – you need to be very dedicated to them. You must have heard the quote “ Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety -nine percent perspiration .”   The message underlying this quote is that dedication is undoubtedly the key to success. The etymological roots of the word dedication can be traced back to the Latin term “ dedicare ” which means “ the giving of oneself to some purpose .”. Thus, it implies that an individual has to be consistently committed towards his aims to attain success. The primary ingredient of dedication is hard work. Hard work requires a right attitude, self-discipline and the ability to focus on one’s life goals and objectives. Even if you are not successful at once, let not failures deter you. Life is like the boxing game, defeat is not declared wh...

Handwriting is a Reflection of Personality

"Handwriting is an imprint of self on page”- Dr. Rosemary Sassoon Handwriting speaks volumes of an individual. The way we frame our words on a page  showcases the state of our heart as well as the mind.  For instance, the chaotic handwritten words along with an array of errors give an impression of our confused state of mind whereas, on the other hand, a good handwriting is a synonym of an enthusiastic, organized and a disciplined individual. Even when considering the scientific perspective, the importance of good handwriting stands strong. The impulses from the brain, travel all the way through to the hand and the fingers, to allow the reproduction of the thoughts into a readable composition of words. It is a complex process involving the precise coordination of the brain and the hand. Thus, good handwriting is  an indicator of excellent mind and motor coordination . Other than the insight of the personality, handwriting also helps in communication. Since writing ...

Do colors shower joy? Kya daag achhe hai ?

It is said that the most popular ads are the ones which have an emotional connect or which we can easily relate to. The famous tagline "Daag Acche hai" of Surf Excel offered a complete different take in the detergent category of celebrating stains and not just removing them. What are your views on this iconic phrase? Could you relate this to some memory of yours?  Do you think "Daag Acche hai"? Vizag, Rednam Gardens, Vikas Educational Institution, 5th floor, 2nd room from one of the ends of the corridor with 8 bunker beds accommodating 16 people. I was there lying on one of the beds,my eyes open wide, fixed at the ceiling and looking back at the old gold days of my childhood. The calendar showed 3rd March, 2008 and the clock struck 11; the night before Holi. Everybody in the room was fast asleep while I was reminiscing how I have celebrated Holi with my family till last year, how we all used to go for burning Holika, enjoyed the taste of the traditional cuisin...

What is your definition of Fashion?

Which outfit do you want to buy for your birthday this time? Which haircut do you want to have the next time you go to salon? or What kind of footwear you want to buy once the sale starts? Well, I am sure the answer will be "whatever is on fashion then"! While my definition of Fashion is not what brands and trends give us but what we feel comfortable in but majority of us don't think alike. Most of us try to customize our lifestyle not the way we like but what others may like. The general mindset of the people regarding fashion is "something which is latest and not outdated" and "something which if not followed may not be appreciated but will definitely be ridiculed". I suppose the manner we wear and the grace with which we carry the products we buy, exhibits our fashion sense. Coming to the changing trends, the variety in products and creating brand image through advertisements and endorsements are all marketing strategies at the cost of enviro...

My Experience of the Local Train at the market city

Tapping feet, clapping hands and resonating voices ; this was the scene when I visited the concert of the band “ The Local Train ” at the Phoenix market city , Bengaluru on 14th January, 2019 at 8:50 pm. The concert was about to start at 8:30 pm but due to some technical glitches, it started at around 8:45 pm. I who was thinking that I am late by 20 minutes and have missed the major part was fortunate enough to miss just the 5 minutes of the event. This was my very first experience of attending a live concert. The place was nothing but the microcosm of the world outside. You meet all kinds of people. Bachelors were there for fun. Die-hard fans for inspiration. Married men looking for an escape And broken hearts looking for ways to mend. For me, it was a mixed feeling of excitement, fun and awkwardness. I was excited because I wanted to attend a live concert since a long time and finally got a chance to witness. I was enjoying because the crowd had gone nuts and had made the ...

The Virulent Virus of the CORONA family

42k deaths, 6.4lakhs quarantined, 1.4lakhs recovered ; this was the statistics due to CORONA virus as on 1st April,2020. Coronavirus comes from two words; corona meaning crown owing to its shape and the virus . This is the 7th virus in the CORONA family and is named  " severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)" which causes a fatal disease called COVID-19. Although its origin is subject to controversies, as some say it was the outcome of unhygienic  conditions in the animal market of Wuhan while others say it was unintentionally leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology while making a bio-weapon, but with no evidences so far stating the same. It is contagious as it depends from one human to another. With flu like symptoms, the incubation period of the virus is 5-14 days. The virus severely affects the lower respiratory tract, mainly lungs. The recovery depends on the auto-immune system of the body which if able to produce antibodies can fight with...

Different Shades of Grey

Studying at different institutions and working in different organisations with people from diverse backgrounds helped me learn a lot about myself. With the due course of time, I got to know how binary I was in my perspective. I would see things at extremes, situations as either favorable or unfavorable, people as good or bad, without realizing the fact that life is not black or white but falls in the spectrum of grey area between the two ends of black and white. Most recently, I gave a job interview for my dream organisation which fortunately went well. I was anxiously waiting to hear whether I was accepted or rejected. So a couple of days later I opened up my notification mail and found out that my resume was kept on hold. The only boxes in my mind were either yes or no. Out of a sudden, I was thrown at this vast area of uncertainty, which seemed unfair and confusing. And this is what most of the real life scenarios look like. There is a multitude of situations that only re...

Are Thoughts Tangible?

We all know, Light travels at a speed of 3*1 0 8  m/s, Sound travels at a speed of 330 m/s, But do you have any idea at what speed does our thought travels? It travels at an infinite speed, in any random direction, at any distant place on the Earth and beyond the periphery of the Earth. While I thought of writing my thoughts, I asked myself, am I taming my thoughts by converting them into texts or just trying to tangibilize them. Because thoughts are open to thousand arenas while texts are limited to thousands of words. Texts can be didactic while thoughts are not. Thoughts are innocent with no filters, knows no boundaries while texts being terrified of misconstrusion, are limited in nature. While on the other side, we as humans who have created Wonders, sometimes undermine our own selves, without realizing that we are just an idea away and that idea stems from one of the random thoughts that passes our brain. In fact, Every doctrine that is followed, Every law th...
