Different Shades of Grey

Studying at different institutions and working in different organisations with people from diverse backgrounds helped me learn a lot about myself. With the due course of time, I got to know how binary I was in my perspective.

I would see things at extremes, situations as either favorable or unfavorable, people as good or bad, without realizing the fact that life is not black or white but falls in the spectrum of grey area between the two ends of black and white.

Most recently, I gave a job interview for my dream organisation which fortunately went well. I was anxiously waiting to hear whether I was accepted or rejected. So a couple of days later I opened up my notification mail and found out that my resume was kept on hold. The only boxes in my mind were either yes or no. Out of a sudden, I was thrown at this vast area of uncertainty, which seemed unfair and confusing. And this is what most of the real life scenarios look like.

There is a multitude of situations that only reflect unpredictability, the half tones of intermediacy, an inexplicable frame of mind, the thoughts that cannot be put into words, the mood that cannot be put in a description, the sentiments that has no name, the worries that apparently have no solutions and despite the fact we want or we don't  we have to embrace them in life.

To handle these intricacies, to deal with the complexities that life offers and to enjoy every moment till we breathe, we need to put aside on black and white perception and learn to see things in different shades of grey.
